Today can be a free day for sightseeing, walking, shopping, swimming or other activities but we heartfully recommend you our guided tour to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina to visit the popular Old Bridge with its Old Town.

Travel from Dubrovnik to Bosnia and Mostar, one of the oldest and most popular settlements of Bosnia-Herzegovina, well known for its Old Bridge (Stari Most),

Historic old town, diverse nightlife and amazing examples of Ottoman architecture.

The spirit of the Orient dominates in every corner of the city, especially in Mostar’s Old Town.

The bridge, also known as the Stari Most (“Old Bridge”), a masterpiece of Ottoman Turkish architecture, is a reconstructed 16th-century Ottoman bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mostar Bridge was commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent. The original bridge stood for 427 years before it was destroyed in 1993 during the war. The charming Old Town of Mostar around the Old Bridge has small narrow streets, lovely cafes and comfortable restaurants, with a fantastic view of Stari Most, the Neretva River and the surrounding mountains.

Here you can find authentic handwork, taste the Bosnian cuisine and take a look at the other domestic products.

The guided tour route takes you around the Old Town via Onofrio’s Fountain and up Prijeko Street to the Old Port – the key to Dubrovnik’s trading and maritime success. Along the way, you will pass by the grandiose Franciscan and Dominican church of Saint Savior and see wine-producing vines believed to be more than 100 years old. Ships from Dubrovnik were renowned throughout the Mediterranean and galleons from the Republic could be found in navies across Europe and beyond.

These ships were built and loaded in the legendary Arsenal, which is another stop on the tour. Once in the “Old Port”, your guide will relate the intriguing stories of the famous Quarantine and the nearby fortresses of St. Luke and St. John as well as fascinating legends about the Church of St Blaise, the Cathedral, the Rector’s Palace, Sponza Palace, and Orlando’s Column.

We recommend walking the 2 km long city wall that surrounds the old town (not included in the tour price). If you are a Game of Thrones lover, then visiting Dubrovnik will be the favorite part of this tour since one part of The Game of Thrones was filmed there.

When we finish our guided sightseeing in the old town, we take a cable car to the top of Mount Srdj to catch breathtaking views of the Old Town and Elaphiti Islands, as well as a beautiful panoramic view of Dubrovnik’s archipelago.

After visiting Srdj, we travel to Konavle to visit the southern region to enjoy Croatia’s little jewel, a small medieval harbor town called Cavtat, which today stores magnificent examples of art and architecture interlaced with the local life style. Cavtat’s best-kept secret is the old harbor with the gorgeous seaside promenade lined with palm trees that hide many lovely restaurants. It has been compared to France’s glamorous Saint Tropez. Upon arrival enjoy a cold drink, an optional cup of coffee, or a snack. Along the seaside, promenade with our local guide. You can admire Vlaho Bukovac’s works, a worldwide modern Croatian painter, as the Franciscan Monastery and the Račić Mausoleum are situated an uphill at the tip of the Cavtat peninsula. After Cavtat, your amazing drive continues through Konavle valley where you will be fascinated by the Falcon Tower and all the small, picturesque villages built in the 11th century. Visit the village of Gruda where you will become acquainted with the silk production and the significance of Konavle embroidery.

Today, you will have a free day, or enjoy a full-day guided tour of Ostrog Monastery, the Capital Cetinje, Njegoš’s mausoleum at Lovćen with Kotor’s serpentine road. (Alternatively, instead of Njegoš’s mausoleum at Lovćen choose between Lipa Cave or the royal village of Njeguši.

Get a thrill out of a fantastic full-day tour in stunning nature and ancient landmarks, quirky sights, and beautiful places on your guided tour for culture and nature lovers.

Start enjoying today’s tour by visiting the Monastery Ostrog, a pearl of Montenegrin spiritualism that is annually visited by more than a hundred thousand pilgrims from around the world and of all religions. It is one of the three most-visited Christian destinations on the planet with its cave-like chapel and monastery complex that preserves the relics of Saint Basil of Ostrog. All of Montenegrin spiritualism, belief and cultural treasures found their home high up in the Ostrog cliffs. You will be amazed by the place itself, landscape, architecture but also the astonishing stories about the life of St. Basil and the miracles that happen to people who visit the monastery.

After visiting Ostrog Monastery, we drive to the center of Cetinje, where you will see the bequest of the most important Montenegrins, the Petrović Dynasty that ruled the country over 200 years: Biljarda – the residence of the bishop, writer, and philosopher Petar II Petrović Njegoš, King Nikola’s Palace, Monastery of Cetinje…

Following the tour of Cetinje, ride to Njegoš Mausoleum. We drive through Cetinje towards the National Park Lovćen in southwestern Montenegro and Njegoš’s mausoleum on the “Jezerski Vrh” (peak), a high mountain pass at an elevation of 1657 m (5,446 ft) above the sea level. Arrival at the Jezerski Vrh on the mountain Lovćen to visit the spectacular mausoleum on the mountaintop, Lovćen’s superior attraction (built 1970 – 1974) and to climb the 461 steps up to the entry where two granite giantesses guard the tomb of Montenegro’s greatest hero Petar II Petrović Njegoš. Inside, under a golden mosaic canopy, Njegoš rests in the wings of an eagle, carved from a single block of black granite. Spectacular circular viewpoint called “Gumno”, provides a picturesque experience, and if the weather’s good, you will be lucky to see the Italian coast. After visiting the mausoleum, we drive towards the Bay of Kotor along the old Austrain-Hungarian serpentine road.

You may choose to visit Lipa Cave or the royal village of Njeguši instead of heading to Njegoš Mausoleum. Lipa Cave is a karst cave situated close to Cetinje with 2.5 km of halls and passages, making it one of the largest caves in Montenegro. It’s the first cave in Montenegro that was opened for tourists. The royal village of Njeguši will reveal the secrets of Njeguši’s reputed prosciutto and cheese specialties.

Finally, an unusual panoramic ride along a unique 25 serpentine road will take you to Kotor and further to Budva.

Rafting for 10 km of impressive rapids will surely trigger your adrenaline rush! The rafting from Šljivansko through the famous canyon Tara toward Žugića Luka (Lever Tara), lasts 2-3 hours (depending on the water level) with breaks for photography, swimming, and refreshment, as well as visiting the largest water spring in Europe and also the shortest river in Europe, Ljutica spring. After the short break at Ljutica, we continue through the Trešnjički Bukovi (cascades) and pass under the famous and also very popular tourist attraction, Đurđevića Tara Bridge. Today, you will have a free day for sightseeing, walking, shopping, swimming or other activities, but we heartfully recommend you our day-tour to explore Old Bar (optional Guided tour Canyoning Rikavac).

After breakfast, head towards the ruins of Old Bar (Stari Bar), about 3 km from the center of Bar, on the hill of Londsa at the foot of Mount Rumija. There, we explore the ruins of the old town of Bar (Stari Bar). What was previously a Roman settlement back in the 6th century became Slavic, Venetian and finally Ottoman property until -in the end- it was destroyed during the 1878 war of Russia and Ottomans.

It must have once been an impressive fortified town full of dedications to deities, grand buildings for the nobility and a residential and commercial hub for the people. For more than a millennium, it was an important part of this region. Today it lies in ruins.

Optionally, today, it is also possible to do a canyoning tour. You may enjoy the stunning Canyon Rikavac with its steep cliffs and clean cold waters. We will start this tour under the walls of the old town Bar and with the equipment on our backs, we will continue to the source of Rikavac. With your canyoning guide, you will hike, follow the water flow, overcome several abseils up to 10m, jump or slide from various heights to the beautiful natural pools below and swim in these waters.

This canyoning tour offers a “taster” experience for those who are willing to experience canyoning for the first time and is also perfect for families with children.

Following lunch (not included in price), return to your accommodation in Bar. Free time, dinner and overnight.

In the morning, check out from your hotel and travel from Bar to Herceg Novi where you will stay the last 2 days. On today’s tour, you will have a picturesque ride along the Adriatic coast and a guided sightseeing tour to discover the lavish architecture and history of the beautiful coastal towns. There will also be a short boat ride to the artificial island “Our Lady of the Rocks”.

After about an hour and a half drive from Bar, we visit Tivat and see Porto Montenegro.  Porto Montenegro combines a spectacular lifestyle and a luxury residential village with a world-class marina in this part of the Mediterranean.

Later head to Kotor. Once you enter Kotor Old Town through the Sea Gate, the old Clock Tower will welcome you! You are right on time to explore the charming streets and medieval squares of this wealthy town!

Passing by the palaces of the noble families, you will feel the spirit of Venetian culture and architecture. Suddenly the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, patron and protector of Kotor, will appear in front of you and amaze you with its eternal beauty. Only a few steps further there is the Maritime Museum, home of the long naval history and tradition of Kotor and the whole Boka bay.

After visiting Old Kotor, continue the journey towards Perast, where the lavish architecture and history amazes every traveler. A short boat ride will take you to the made-made island “Our Lady of the Rocks”.

“Our Lady of the Rocks” is a reliable keeper of the secrets of sailors and local legends for 6 centuries. You will be impressed by the history and legends, paintings covering the walls and the ceiling as well as the fantastic view that opens in front of you!

DAY 11: Free day OR Herceg Novi & Monastery Savina (optional)

Today is a free day or you may choose to enjoy Herceg Novi & Monastery Savina tour.

Herceg Novi is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the Montenegrin coast. The town is recognizable by its numerous stairs and the abundance of mimosa trees. Thanks to a large number of sunny days all year round it is often called “The City of the Sun”.

We visit Kanli Kula which means “Bloody Tower”, infamous 16th-century prison during Herceg Novi’s years of Turkish rule. The walk through the Old Town of Herceg Novi is most

impressive when approached from the pedestrian section of Ulica Njegoševa, which is paved in the same shiny marble as Dubrovnik and lined with elegant, mainly 19th-century buildings. The street ends with Nikola Ðurković square surrounded by cafes, where stairs lead up to an elegant Clock Tower from 1667 above the main city gate.

Also, you may proceed to do wine tasting at the Savina Monastery with its vineyards, located at the entrance of impressive Boka bay, on the estate of the famous monastery Savina from the 11th century.

Today you will learn about the techniques of winemaking in the lavish Mediterranean vegetation and woodland surrounding. The members of the Obradovic family will explain the benefits of wine growing in the coastal area. You will also taste one of the indigenous white varietals, Žižak (zhizhak). All of that, while tasting the products from their cellars! (Wine tasting is optional)

After visiting Herceg Novi and Savina, head back to our hotel in Herceg Novi Riviera.

Free time, dinner and overnight.
